Polished fossil stromatolite. Eucapsiphora leakensis. EUC150 striped jasper 280 mm x 110 mmEUC150 Very rare fossil stromatolite slab , cut and polished on one side. Eucapsiphora leakensis. These small branching columnar stromatolites are from the Mount Leake Sandstone, Earaheedy Group, Western Australia. Location is near the town of Meekatharra. Age is Palaeoproterozoic (1. 6 to 2. 5 billion years). The environment they grew in was most probably a sandy tidal flat or braided river channel. Dimensions at widest points approx. 180 mm x 70 mm
